Langaa Author Philo Ikonya wins "Honorable Mention" Aidoo-Snyder Book Award 2014

Langaa is pleased to share with you the good news that Philo Ikonya’s Still Sings the Night Bird (2013), which was submitted by Langaa RPCIG for the Aidoo-Snyder Book Award won Honorable Mention for 2014. This Book Award is sponsored by the Women’s Caucus of the African Studies Association, USA.

Here is the author’s reaction to the news:

I received an elating call from Nwando Achebe, a professor of History and this is what she said:

" I am calling as the co-convener of African Studies Association, Women’s Caucus on behalf of the panel of the Aidoo-Snyder Book Award 2014 to let you know that your book: Still Sings the Nightbird has won Honorable Mention 2014. Congratulations! This is a big accomplishment, I am so proud of you!"
